Unnat Bharat Abhiyan @ITSEngg
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a Government of India initiative specially designed for the development of rural areas of the nation. Primarily the focus is to meet the basic needs of the rural areas with the help of local resources, eco-friendly technologies and integration of the technocrats. Also professional higher education institutes are engaged to fulfill the requirement and to bridge the gap between the urban sector and the rural population of India under the UBA scheme. The scheme was launched on 11th November, 2014 in accordance of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and association of IIT Delhi.
The vision of the scheme is to make the transformational changes in the rural development by the help of knowledge institutions. Mission of UBA is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth.
In the same context I.T.S Engineering College joined the scheme as Participating Institute (PI) and adopted five villages in its proximity named as Atta Gujran, Kondli Khadar, Nawada, Pali and Shafipur. As per the requirement of the UBA general surveys and household surveys of all the adopted villages are completed and uploaded on the UBA portal. Also with the help of a strong team of faculty members and students from various streams many events have been conducted in all the villages for the benefits of the population residing. I.T.S Engineering College built a very strong relation with these five adopted villages and working very hard for the future prospects too.
