PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

ENGINEERING GRADUATES WILL BE ABLE TO:-

PO1: ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization for the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: PROBLEM ANALYSIS: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTIONS: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: CONDUCT INVESTIGATIONS OF COMPLEX PROBLEMS: The problems:

·  That cannot be solved by straightforward application of knowledge, theories and techniques applicable to the engineering discipline.

·  That may not have a unique solution.

·  That requires consideration of appropriate constraints/requirements not explicitly given in the problem statement.

·  Which need to be defined (modeled) within appropriate mathematical framework.

·  That often require use of modern computational concepts and tools.

PO5: MODERN TOOL USAGE: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: ENGINEER AND SOCIETY: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8: ETHICS: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9: INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM WORK: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10: COMMUNICATION: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with the society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11: PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND FINANCE: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12: LIFE-LONG LEARNING: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Teaching & Learning Process

Effective Teaching Learning Process lays strong foundation for achieving academic success. I.T.S Engineering College follows Learner Centred Teaching Approach to promote and develop the requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes and continuous learning habit among its students. This consists of a set of principles, beliefs, ideas about the nature of learning which is rendered into the classroom. Students are engaged in activities that enables them to acquire knowledge, skills, as well as positive attitude and values.

Our innovative and comprehensive curriculum enables our students acquire knowledge of fundamentals, requisite skills and expertise expected from the future professionals. Curriculum is designed as continues process which basically enhances the learning by the students. Market realities are changing fast, therefore, the various departments of the institute modify and upgrade their curriculum from time to time to provide the latest knowledge and skills to our students.

As an added advantage, learning at I.T.S Engineering College is not only restricted to the classroom but also through field visits, summer internship, vocational courses and constant interaction with industry personnel / professional experts.

The whole Teaching & Learning at I.T.S Engineering College is categorized into three broad areas of Knowledge Acquisition and Skill Development.

1. The Learning Outcomes for all our Programmes

Institute level learning outcomes broadly describe expected and desired consequences of learning through integrated curricular and co-curricular experiences. They provide us with a basis for ongoing assessment to continuously improve teaching and learning process.

2. Effective Teaching Methods/ Content Delivery

The main method of providing knowledge is through lectures, the associated hand-outs and supporting material. Lectures are supported by associated problem solving sessions which reinforce the lecture content.Feedback on progress is given through tutorials, study groups, coursework, class tests, and students are expected to use this feedback to enhance & develop their learning.

3. Assessment

Majority of the lecture modules are assessed by written exams and practical exams at the end of the academic year. Student project work is assessed by oral presentation of the ideas, written reports with details of the design, implementation & testing of the program under consideration and the conclusions drawn.

4. Innovative Approach adopted by I.T.S Engineering College in Teaching Learning Process

Guest Lectures/ Expert Lectures by eminent persons from Industry & Academic. Industrial/ Field Visits Use of Audio Visual Aids in Teaching Learning Process Seminars/ Workshops on Emerging / Innovative Avenues in various technical/ non-technical fields by Industry Experts Students/ Faculty Exchange Programs in collaboration with various renowned Institutions/Universities.
